PB1A- Hotel Websites

Hotel website pages  (links at bottom) The genre I chose is hotel website pages, because with traveling that is one of the main tools people use to find a place to stay and to double check if the place they are staying in is their price range, the location, and if it is comfortable. Most of the time the website is the biggest advertisement for these hotels, so they have to make their site as captivating as possible to their audience. They do this by using several different conventions, that almost every website has.   After looking at several hotel websites, I viewed that usually the first thing that popped up is pictures of the hotel’s best feature. Sometimes it was the view the hotel had, other times it was the inside of the room. Another thing they all had in common was they had a “reservation” tab particularly on or very close to the appealing picture. Usually this was on the top hand corner, very visible to their customers. They do this so people are attracted...
Elbow Article For my annotations of the elbow article I circled the main topics, or the main subjects that are being written about. The highlighted was everything that was important about the closest circled subject. The underlined part is when the author talks about what contradicts with what he talks about. The square is key word or words that I feel made the piece strong. Stars are strong messages messages I got out of the writing. I also make list for each subject. The pattern that I found when I write is, each annotation helps me distinguish what the author wants to say about he's explaining. Torie was telling me she highlight words or phrases she wants to look back on. She stars or underline points that she thinks are important and that will be discussed in class. She rewrites sentences that she wants to understand better. Jacob told me he also highlights or underlines what he thinks is important. He then writes questions in the margins to get answers in class.
Hello everyone, I’m Akia. I just moved to to Abington from Albuquerque, New Mexico. So far it has been a pretty smooth transition, for me at least. My family is taking it a little hard but they know it's for the best. My family also knows it is much safer out here than it is back in New Mexico. I came all the way across the country not only for the education, but for my love of softball. I've been playing since I was ten and have been playing ever since. I catch for those of you who know the sport. Making this big change is scary but so far everything has fallen in place. I have mixed feelings about everything, sad, excited, curious, scared. Sad because I’ve always been around my family my whole life. Excited because there is only opportunity ahead of me. Curious of what will be in store for me. Then scared of failing. This is a start to new things and for the time being I believe in myself. I believe I have a bright future ahead of me. I believe I can make my family proud...
